INEVITABLE
Project experimenting
Frames
Two frames make the simplest walk cycle.
The initial idea was to build two frames in one body and project their shadows alternatively, but it brings problems.
-
walking has ups and downs, so the frames have uneven heights.
-
hard to hide one frame entirely behind the other.
-
if two frames have 90 degrees in between, they cannot be projected on the same screen without being turned.
Figures
Hiding one frame inside the edge of the other is possible. However, it requires cooperation between the light and model positions. They both have to adjust angles for every frame.
I decide to use two separate cutout figures, keep them still in position and only switch the angles of the projection lights.

Animation
The animation idea is to project each frame of movement with a specific light. Lighting the lights one after another by connecting and disconnecting a series of pre-arranged circuits will make the running illusion.
Lighting
Blue LED turned out to be the only one strong enough to project clear shadows.
