Define

This project is a conceptual exploration of personal identity. It starts with the question "Who are you?", and then presents questions the player can answer optionally. Each question page has a countdown timer that prevents overthinking as well as represents the restriction of time in life. The result page pops up after all the question pages, which list all the questions the player had answered, not the answers. The point is, what defines you is the aspects you noticed and thought about, not the answers you gave and the facts locate you.

This game is made by Twine, some questions are generated by the method borrowed from Tracery. So, different people may face different pools of choices. Some lines show up after others to build the processing of narration.

Critiques

1. Tinery mentioned that because of the countdown, he can just answer what his eyes catch first. This response reflects the connotation of this project that one can never browser over the whole life before deciding what to do and what to care about.

2. Sam complained about the lack of conclusion. I am not going to make one, because this whole process is about exploring what identity is. Also, I do not know how to analyze personality from responses.

3. Coco says she filled 17 under the question "How old are you?" without thinking. This is interesting. Behaves toward the questions also reveal one's characteristics. Noticing this by oneself can be an extra discovery more than what I assumed this game can offer.

4. Viola brings it up that people make choice-based interactions without researching the psychology of choices. I agree. I may do further research about choice psychologies.

5. Allison commented about the unobvious interactions such as making choices, typing something, and passing time. The game progress is secretly triggered, which enables the twist of the ending. The countdown feels too strong for the purpose of restricting choices. Instead of the countdown, I think it would be better if the questions disappear like fog after showing up for a while.
