This is a stroy about reconciliation.  The hand-draw figure and the pixilation figure are two different representations of the same person who tries to find and understand herself. The two versions of the character live in different dimensions of the staircase world. They can see each other, talk to each other, and even query with each other, but never stay on the same plane or touch each other. They run and chase. The distorted staircase serves as the bridge that makes them meet and the wall that forms sepration. The two characters are a metephor of the superfacial self and the hidden self. The endless staircase represents the environment that makes people lost.
