Final Project Experiments
The idea comes from an interesting sensor which detects the depth of liquid. We are trying to come up with an idea about what this sensor can do and contribute to a cornell box. Maybe it can create a interactive experience of making drinks. Or the water level may trigger specific animations.
According to the author, dancing to the music is participation, not interaction, because the dancer do not set the beat or send feedback to the music composer. However, does this view hold true today? With motion capture and live coding techniques, it is possible for the dancer to set the beats to the music. With the internet and machine learning, the computer could even read and analyze the dancer's sentiments and report to the composer.
New media is the game changer. New technologies allow old media to listen, think and speak. More interactivities are triggered and the world is becoming more interactive.
